Katharine Hepburn , was best known for her roles in which she played strong, stylish, sophisticated women she has been called the greatest actress to have graced the big screen and also holds the accolade for being an innovative satorialist, but I think her biggest accomplishment was the way she lived her life, she is a great role model. I've listed a few of her memorable quotes which I hope inspire you.

• I never realized until lately that women were supposed to be the inferior sex.

Power dressing

I have recently re-watched Annie Hall, for what would be the 10th time, and one of the many reasons I'm drawn to the film is Diane Keaton's characters way of constructing her wardrobe. She borrowed heavily from men's wardrobes, as wore baggy trousers, blazers, vests, ties, oversize shirts and floppy hats. Every decade this androgyny look repeats itself on the catwalks to the high street, in various incarnations.

To create the look costume designer Ruth Morley worked with Ralph Lauren to create the preppy masculine look. Recently brogue shoes have resurfaced and they look great with a pair of skinny jeans, over sized t-shirt and waistcoat, which appears to be the 21st century girls take on Annie Hall. I need to start wearing my baggy trousers which I purchased a few seasons back and have rarely come out to play as I live in dresses. But having been re inspired by Annie Hall and Yohiji Yamamoto's recent collection I might start playing being a boy.

Havana nights

Te pictures below are from the Spring 2009 collection for Yohji Yamamoto which debuted in June 08.

The use of older men and men of various shapes adds so much character to the clothes, and showcase the fact that anybody can wear his clothes and look fantastic. The young faces can all start looking generic, but when you have a designer like Yamamoto who likes to push the boundaries, your models need to have that sense of life and a story to them as well, which has been achieved by casting the models used below.

I know that many of these pieces will not be liked by everyone but they do embody Yamamoto's avant-garde spirit, as he is not afraid to push boundaries. He has combined modern dressing with a 1950's feel which really works for me.

Hot or Not

Well it's that time of year when the fashion world starts showcasing the Spring collection, there seems to be a regurgitation of previous trends as we see high waisted trousers and shorts, harem pants, asymmetrical dresses and sheer fabrics. It appears that the credit crunch has hit the designers as no seems able to produce an original garment. However, it does help us fashionistas as we can raid our ever expanding wardrobes and discover hidden gems that are going to be seen through out spring.

Remember the hippie chic of seasons past when everyone was donning long flowing skirts with big beaded belts that were inspired from the markets of Marrakesh, well bohemian style is currently a hit with a few designers. So it's time to rummage through the back of your wardrobe and find those peasant blouses, which you should team with a pair of skinny jeans and studded ankle boots just to give the outfit a bit of edge.

One of my favourite trends is the one shoulder look whether it's a dress or a blouse, the look emphasis the shoulders and makes an outfit appear feminine and elegant. As the pictures below demonstrate the structure of the look can change depending on material, colour and design of the outfit. Therefore is plenty of scope to experiment with the asymmetrical look.

Draping on the clothes below showcase intricate pleating and creative twists and folds of fabric. Incarnations of toga - style goddess gowns and vintage YSL. The folds in fabric are great for hiding a multitude of sins while emphasising curves.

The all in one has been around for a couple of seasons and seems to want world domination even though most people are struggling with the concept of wearing the garment. Is it appropriate for work? Should you wear it on a night out? The answer to all your questions is yes, it just depends on how you aim to wear it. Layering with belts and jackets and a pair of sky high stilettos will give you instant glamour.
Designers have swept the runways with gauzy, sheer fabrics in muted, neutral colours which add a tone of freshness against the metallic and jewel tone colours awash on the runway.

Model Apartment

In contrast to Jessica Stam's apartment Erins has a lot of personal touches with an eclectic mix furniture. Even though I like the apartmnet and it has great space I prefer rooms rather than an open plan layout.
